Skywalk

Have you heard of the new Grand Canyon SKYWALK? You can check it out HERE!

Tjek det ud HER!

The Skywalk opened in 2007 and was built by an Asian businessman with the permission of the Hualapai Tribe on the west rim of the Grand Canyon. He is leasing the land from the tribe for 25 years in which time half the profits from visitors go to the businessman, and the other half goes to the tribe. After 25 years, the Hualapai will have full ownership of the Skywalk.

As a part of our helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon, we flew to the Skywalk. It is considered as a sacred area which meant that we could not wear our shoes as we walked out onto it... And we were not allowed to have cameras or cell phones. It was an INCREDIBLY SPECIAL experience to walk 72 feet out from the wall of the Grand Canyon and see the the canyon's floor through the glass bottom of the Skywalk.

Unfortunately we arrived too late last year to be on the skywalk. It looked like a great experience for you three.

That skywalk is just amazing! I think I would have fainted from the sheer height!

Very cool - too bad about the sacred part though, would've loved to have seen pictures!
