Nøgle... Keys

Not such an important blog topic today....
BUT I was shocked by it that I just had to write....

We need another key to give to my student that took care of Albert this past weekend... and you will never guess how much a key costs in Denmark? 1 little, regular, ol' house key..... 11 dollars! Can you believe it?! I asked Mads if the key was to the queen's place or if it was made from secret Viking gold...but nope. It's just a regular key! Then he said, "Let me guess...in America you can get a key made for 99cents at Wal-mart because everything in America costs 99cents at Wal-mart!" (I didn't tell him that yep, that is correct!)

We decided that the next time we are at Wal-mart we are getting copies of all our keys made! :o)

Does it help that I just paid $7 at Ace Hardware -- and it didn't work when I got home?

Not sure how much 11 dollars is... but it costs over 100 kr here to get a key cut.

OMG Lady FI, that is like 20 US dollars! I hope it's made of sterling silver!

And Caution...see, you should have gone to Walmart for the 99cent deal! LOL

There is a reason why it costs only 99 cents at Walmart. Haven't you ever followed debates about Walmart? There are reasons why things are so cheap there.

100 Swedish kroner is less than 14 USD.

I agree, $11 is a lot for one key. So is $50! I was shocked when I couldn't take my apartment key to get a copy to Keymaker @ Pentagon City. I tried, even tho Concierge said no one could make a copy. He was right!
Some how, they make customized, uncopyable keys for safety... it was new to me, but I appreciate the safety!

I'm glad there's a good reason for the $11 key... Albert sure appreciates a friendly face!!
