Værktøj... Tools

Do you know what this is? It is a very important tool in a Danish home. I never had one before I moved to Denmark, but I have learned since then that EVERY HOME has one! (Mads has tried to teach me to use it correctly, but I am still not so great at it!)

Ooo - interesting! Wonder if we have those in Sweden too?

Is it a:

gas lighter that you can light candles or fires with?

Does it open the fireplace doors?

Can it extract teeth?

Burn the top of caramel flans?

Make dinner when you don't feel like it?

It's for the cheese, we have 2 different ones at home 'cause the man is a cheese fan.

I think you use it to punch new holes in your belts after they get too big from riding your Danish bikes in the Danish rain.

There is an abundance of cheese in Denmark, so maybe something to do with preparing cheese? or it's to put all the IKEA furniture together. lol

Is it the "welfare state" flag? Similar to the hammer and sickle but happier?

No one has a clue about this? Does it have something to do with the heating system?

Oh I do! It is an important import in our home, we must have at least three. MIL sends or brings us the replacement parts as we need them. Not to be cheesy, but this item certainly tugs on the strings of My Dane's heart and is used on a daily basis! ;)

Oh that's an easy one - cheese cutter.

Don't you really hate trying to re-wire one of those things after the wire breaks? I know you can buy the wires and do it, but I'm always tempted to just go and buy a new one. I think I must be all thumbs!
