Gæster i Herning .... Guests in Herning

I aftes havde Herning gæster!

Last night Herning had guests! 50,001 people arrived in Herning, Denmark.... 50,000 came to see a concert....and 1 came to sing. Remember---Herning is Jutland´s Music Mecca!!

Each time that Herning has special guests at the Herning Convention Center, the town flies Dannebrog (the Danish flag) everywhere in the city. I love to drive through the town and see the flags everywhere... but yesterday, I loved seeing the flags MORE THAN NORMAL!

Hver timer ringer klokker hos Herning Kirke.

Every hour the bells ring from the Herning Church. It is a beautiful sound, but yesterday, the woman who "rings the bells" decided to play something different. Every hour yesterday, she played a Bruce Springsteen song on the bells! Now that is what you call a REAL FAN!

Herning´s shopping streets were transformed into "E Street" for the afterparty.

Only in Denmark will you see more bikes than cars at a concert!

Mads and I did not buy concert tickets, but we went to the arena and stood outside and listened to "The Boss".... It was really special to hear him...especially when he tried to speak Danish. He said, "We are glad to be in Herning tonight." It was so sweet!!

I told Mads that I cannot imagine how it must feel to be someone like Bruce Springsteen...from America, singing his songs in Denmark while Danes and Germans and Norwegians sing along... WOW! Next week we are driving to Germany to hear the Eagles. (The tickets were my Christmas present!)...more American music in Europe! I cannot wait!

When it comes to advertising for tourism is Denmark, they need to have a link to your blog !!!

The more I read about Denmark from you, the more I KNOW I have to come and visit.

Have fun at the Eagles concert !!! They are one of my dad's favorite bands. I remember riding thru the oil fields in Texas with him blaring out " Best of My Love" , " Hotel California"...etc.

I went to Don Henleys book signing for the book about Walden Woods. He even called me sweetie!!!! I gave the signed book to my dad for fathers day.
