Mads and I fly to London on Wednesday.... and will have 2 new things in our bag.... (see picture)

Mads speaks great English and it has improved more and more since we first met. However he wants to get better so his "wife the teacher" told him that the best way to improve and to increase his vocabulary is by reading in English. So...."The Nørgaard Book Club" starts Wednesday!

I bought 2 copies of Marley and Me from amazon.uk as our first book that we will read together and discuss. The book´s film version has just arrived in Demark this weekend so after we are finished with the book, we can have a date night to see the movie together. I wanted to find a book that we would both like since most of what I like to read would be considered "chick books"!

Marley and me has 27 chapters so I hope that we are finished with it before our trip to Texas on May 27 (in 53 days) so we can maybe read Nørgaard bookclub´s second book on that trip.... and the second book could be in Danish! I am so excited to share this book with my husband because literature is so important to me and to read something together is, in my opinion, awesome!

I totally agree reading is wonderful. Shamefully though I haven't read much since becoming a mother..it's a very bad excuse but I just don't have the patience..when I finally have a down moment I usually just vegetate. But I'm hoping to find my way back to something I had a great passion for as a kid/teen. I'd love for my husband to read more but he's never been interested. When he finally does read a book and tells me about it I'm so proud of him but it's always a long time until the next time I hear he's read a book. And MARLEY AND ME??? Geez, I've been wanting to see that movie forever..Sarah has downloaded it, just didn't find time to see it yesterday and I'd love to read the book also..the books are usually better then the movies..enjoy!!!

I love books as well and I would love to share them with my husband. Sadly, he's not a reader. I think in the +10 years that I've known him he's read 3 or 4 books.

However, last year he read "To kill a mockingbird" and loved it, so there's hope for him yet. :)

One of my Danish friends just finished the Twilight series and adored it. She said that the English was easy enough that she didn't have to constantly reach for a dictionary. My husband is taking on "The Yacoubian Building". Since he never has time to read, I'm not sure when he's going to get the chance. Alas we don't have any long plane flights scheduled. My Danish skills allow me to skim newspapers are read such exciting language school texts like "Hvor er Bo?" and "Jan kører bussen."

What a great idea for the two of you to read books in each others languages!
