Kun i Herning! Only in Herning!

We have a small, cozy living room, perfect for 3 or 4 people, but for Mads´ birthday party, we had 10 guests coming! Yesterday, we decided to shop for an ottoman to give us more places to sit. We found the perfect ottoman at Sinnerup (right size and right price), but it was black and we wanted brown. We asked the salesperson about a brown ottoman og explained that we were not sure if black would "go" with our furniture, but she did not have one. Then we got a surprise!

She offered to LOAN the black ottoman to us so we can try it in our living room! No payment...no credit card...only our name, address and phone number! She said we can either bring it back next week, or come in and pay for it! It felt great to know that someone still believes "People are good"!!

I love it when I run across people that still trust each other. I have found them around the globe and they always make my heart happy.

That's very nice...how's the ottoman? Is it comfortable?

I have a question: how did you apply your residency in DK?

I guess that's what happens when you have a handsome danish husband (& it's his bday) and you're a local Herning celebrity (i.e. newspaper article).

Interesting post...and to make it fun, maybe you should have let your blog buddies vote if the ottoman looked cool in your livingroom. So then at the end of the wk, according to votes you either pay for it or take it back :-)

I didn't even know that "puf" is called ottoman in English :D

Love your blog and your Danish! I'm in grad school over the bridge in Lund, Sweden - but am married to a Dane, so I'm taking Swedish classes before Danish. I'll keep a watch for new posts and add you to my list!

You know...there is a design theory that states a bit of black in a room, through accessories, frames, whatever...makes the whole room pop. In my experience it has seemed to be true.

Only way to tell if that ottoman's worth anything is to haul it out on your porch with seventeen of your friends. Good times.

I think the black ottoman looks good. And I think you'll find that there is a lot of trust between people in Scandinavia... (I myself live in Sweden.)
