Kaffe og Kage ... Coffee and Cake

Mads has many many cousins because his dad is one of seven children, while I only have six. However, I love to be with my cousins, especially Frankie and Krystal, because we always have a great time when we are together, so I was really excited for the chance to meet Mads´ cousin, Dorthe. She and her husband, Sandy, live in Vejle, about an hour from Herning, and because she is "Aunt Ruth´s" (Mads´ godmother) daughter, I kew she must be really special! We invited Dorthe and Sandy, my sister in law´s family and my inlaws to our house for coffee yesterday afternoon.

Of course "come for coffee", also means "come for cake!, so I decided to make three different desserts to give everyone a choice and I wanted to make "non Danish" things. I chose Paula Deens "earthquake cake", MoMo´s Sour Cream Blueberry Muffins, and MoMo´s Banana Pudding...which have three very different tastes and I figured I could find everything I needed to make them....until I searched for "Nilla Wafers" which everyone knows is the 2nd most important thing in Banana Pudding! But there are no Nilla Wafers in Jutland, so I went to Plan B!

Anden god dag i Herning...
The coffee was good, the conversation was god and all three desserts were too! MoMo would be proud of her banana pudding with my "Plan B cookies"! We had an incredible afternoon together as a family, and I have a feeling Mads and I will be visiting Dorthe and Sandy in Vejle soon because I thought they were awesome! Another good day in Herning...
